It's a Wonderful Life
I've always had an autobiography in my personal sites. It started as a sprawling 2000+ word marathon by a eighth grader with too much time on her hands. Here lies its remnants, the most important bits.
- August 23, 1990: It's a Thursday afternoon. My parents receive their first (and cutest, IMO) spawn.
- 1993: Started preschool. Said goodbye to my imaginary friend, Jojobobo. My first friend's name was Maggie.
- December 1993: My brother, Miguel, invades.
- 1995: Move to Michigan. Attended a Catholic school, which I loved. My best friend was my mom; I wasn't interested in having friends my age.
- 1998: Enter Pongo, a Newfoundland puppy. Best listener ever.
- 2000: Changed schools. Made friends. Had fights with said friends, then made up. Thought I had musical talent. Read books, discovered the Internet, played video games.
- 2001: My first (and would be only long-lasting) crush. First period.
- 2002: Unwittingly screwed myself over by skipping a year in math, which would lead to severe problems come junior year in high school. Australia.
- 2003-2004: Junior high. There was drama. There was band and dances and gossip. I had mood swings. I got fish and named the sickly one after a girl I intensely disliked. (Coincidentally, the fish did not die, and neither did she.) Philippines.
- 2004-2005, Freshman: High school begins. Junior varsity tennis. Admitted to having no musical talent. Matured slightly with help. US Virgin Islands.
- 2005-2006, Sophomore: Enlightenment, thanks to the hardest class I have ever taken, AP European History. Struggled with procrastination. Grades dropped. New independence in thought and actions. Varsity tennis. Met doubles partner and soon-to-be best friend, Liz. More new friends. Learning to drive. My Cadillac. London. Paris.
- 2006-2007, Junior: Second year varsity. First college course. Panicking about college. Panicking about grades. General panic all around. Grades stop dropping but don't raise either. Forged a desire to take responsibility. Enter Katie Sue and Emily, good friends. Mexico, NYC, Canada, Chicago. A boy, a "thing", then a relationship. Spain.
- 2007-2008, Senior: University of Michigan Summer Discovery program, and California. Have taken that responsibility thing and am running with it. Grades improving! (!!!) Growing closer, and growing apart. ♥ First anniversary. College applications, grr. Driver's license, finally! New car, the Suub. Accepted to college. Last dances. Pied Piper Prom Chair. Graduation--wore NHS sash and Honor Cord. High school: GAME OVER!
- 2008-2009, Freshman Undergrad: Summer - California. RIP Tita Kim. Babysitting part-time. Freshman orientation. Bear away for summer semester. I turn 18!
